Covering letter accompanying an extract of correspondence (not included) from Lt Leeds to Commodore Porter, on the reasons for the failure to intercept vessels returning from East Africa to the Arab coast with slaves this season, and of the two slave boys landed by the Honourable Company's schooner Constance . Hennell recommends the importance of having an interpreter onboard vessels involved in the suppression of the slave trade between Africa and the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. .
