View in Mahmudiyeh [Al Mahmudiyah], south of Baghdad. At left a café is occupied by several men and a carriage stands in the background.

In the background at left an iwan-like entrance forms a break in the high white-washed wall that extends from left to centre.

In the far distance groups of men can be seen.
