The papers concern prisoners of the Bahrain state, in particular their deportation to places such as India. Many of the papers are covering letters, receipts, invoices, and requests for payment for the upkeep of prisoners held in jails in Karachi, Sukkur, and Hyderabad. This correspondence is between officials of those jails, the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Bahrain, and the Adviser to the Government of Bahrain.

Folio 173 is a copy of a letter, dated 6 June 1928, from the Secretary of State for Colonies to the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. regarding the official title of the Agent at Jeddah and which is to be used in correspondence with Ibn Saud, ruler of Najd and its dependencies.
