This file contains applications for import/export licenses and shipping space that were sent to the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. in Bahrain by a number of merchants active in the country. The applications relate to the importation of alcohol and food supplies from various suppliers in the United Kingdom.

The file also contains related correspondence between British officials, primarily at the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. and the Government of Bahrain Customs Department.
