these lias been regulated by orders issued by the Government
each tiae slightly decreasing the amount of the advances
in order to reduce the debts of the Bivers. Previously
the Nakhudas used frequently to deliberately put their
Divers into debt by making the® large advances at enormous
interest until divers were in debt to such an extent that
they would never in a lifetime get free» and were there
for® in the position of Slaves to their Nakhudas.
l» Teskagu An allowance made at the end of the
Diving season, about two months after the completion of
the Main Season (Mosem A1 Ghoos) when all accounts have
been settled intended for the maintenance of Divers during
the "Off" season, this in time should be unnecessary as
under the present rules the divers should be in possession
of sufficient share of the profits ( Pazilan) with which
to carry on until the new season*

season (Shawal) for provision for the divers' families
while men are diving and also to provide for purchases
by divers of extra food, kit such as rope &o. necessities
for the season#
