The letter is enclosing a list of bills transmitted to Bombay from the Bushire Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. with dates, along with a list of drafts that cannot be found, in response to communications dated 24 March, and 31 July 1812.

There is no signature to the letter, but it is in all probabilty written by William Bruce, Acting Resident at Bushire.
