It will be seen from p. 11 of the attached statement
of D & C.expenditure for 1928-29 that the cost of the
buildings at Kerman has been included, the authority quoted
being the telegram from this Office of the 17th April 1928
P.1682/28). In the Government of India’s telegram of the
18th January 1928 (P.308/28) quoted it was stated that the
expenditure would be divisible and the reply was evidently
taken as agreeing with this. It appears from the papers that
there was no question of departing from the decision
communicated to India in the letter of the 3rd liarch 1927
(p.917/27) and accordingly that the debit in question must
be deleted. It seems desirable that the necessary communica
tion with the Government of India should issue in the
Pol.Dept.
