69 . The Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. shall, on the registration of a com
pany at the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. , issued to the person making the
registration a certificate, signed and sealed, that the company
has been so registered.
—C 1 ) Every company registered under this Order shall
feter the name and address of the manager or other chief
local representative in Qatar, and shall from time to time, as
may be necessary, register any alteration of the representative
of the company or in his address.
(2) Rules of Court made under Article 75 may provide that
service of writs, notices, or other documents upon the person
registered under this Article, or at his address, shall be good
service of such documents upon the company.
71 . Registration of a company under this Order shall not
require to be renewed annually, but may be renewed from time
to time as the parties may desire, and shall be renewed when
any change takes place in the name of the company.
72 . On every registration of a company, under this Order,
and on every renewal thereof, there shall be payable a fee of
10 rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. , and on every registration under Article 70 (1) there
shall be payable a fee of 1 rupee.
73 . — (1) A British company shall not be entitled to be recog
nised or protected as a British company unless it is registered
under this Order, but a British company and any other com
pany subject to this Order shall, although not registered, be
subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts established by this
Order.
(2) Nothing in this Article shall affect the right of the Secre
tary of State to direct that British protection shall not be
acorded to a company, even though it has been registered under
this Order.
(3) Any company failing to make such registration or to
deposit or file such documents as required by Articles 67, 68
and 70 of this Order and every Director, Manager, Secretary
or other officer who is knowingly a party to such default shall
be guilty of an offence under this Order, and on proof thereof
shall be liable to a fine not exceeding 15 rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. a day for
every day during which such offence continues, but not exceed
ing in all 500 rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. .
Part VII.— Miscellaneous Provisions.
74 . — (a) Persons subject to this Order are prohibited from
alienating to or acquiring from any person of whatever nation
ality any land or household property within the dominions of
the Shaikh, either by gift, purchase, mortgage, or other form
