The file contains correspondence between the the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Bahrain, the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. at Bushire, the Financial Adviser to the Government in Bahrain, Charles Darlymple Belgrave, and representatives of the Bahrain Petroleum Company Limited (BAPCO) on BAPCO's application to act as Shipping Agent authorised to collect landing charges in Bahrain and unload ships. The file collects complaints issued by BAPCO against the competitors Gray Mackenzie & Co. There are some documents in Arabic, with English translation.
