This file concerns Saudi Arabian boundary negotiations between 1949 and 1950 and specifically concerns boundaries with Qatar (folios 2-3 and 6-12), Buraimi [al-Buraymī] (folios 4-5 and 16-19) and the Trucial Coast The historic term used by the British to refer to the Gulf coast of Trucial Oman, now called United Arab Emirates. (folios 14-15). The file contains correspondence between Herbert George Jakins, Cornelius James Pelly and R Andrew, Political Agents at Bahrain; Arthur John Wilton, Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Doha; and Patrick Desmond Stobart, Political Officer at Sharjah.
