Arrangement

The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file. Circled serial numbers written in crayon (red for incoming, blue for outgoing correspondence) refer to entries in the notes at the rear of the file.

Physical characteristics

Foliation: the foliation sequence commences at 1 on the front cover and terminates at 34 on the back cover. The numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and appear in the top right hand corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. page of each folio. The following foliation anomaly occurs: ff. 13, 13A. The following folio needs to be folded out to be read: f. 12.
