This file contains papers relating to the civil administration of Basra and its environs after its takeover by British forces during the First World War, such as the city's police force. Other topics covered in the papers include the importation of Indian Staff for the new administration, the suppression of arms trafficking, and Sir Percy Cox's political role in Iraq following the War.
