Correspondence, minute papers, and memoranda relating to the finances of the Bahrain state. The papers cover a number of matters, including the appointment and retention of Sir Charles Dalrymple Belgrave as Financial Adviser in Bahrain, annual budgets and reports, and the economic situation in the country more generally. Correspondence is between officials at the Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. in Bahrain, Government of India (Foreign and Political Department), and Belgrave himself.
