Correspondence regarding British India Steamship Navigation Company regulations that armed Persian [Iranian] Officers should give up their weapons when transporting prisoners on vessels flying the British flag.
The correspondence dated 1930 concerns the arrest of Sirdar Leader of a tribe or a polity; also refers to a military rank or title given to a commander of an army or division. Din Mohamed of Dashtyari [Dashtīārī], and his transport from Charbar [Chabahar] to Bushire [Bandar Būshehr], escorted by armed officers. It includes details of attempts by the Persian Government to disarm the tribes in Dashtyari, and British concerns that Baluchi tribes would destroy local telegraph lines in retaliation.
