This collection of telegrams relate to the professional differences between Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Percy Zachariah Cox, Chief Political Officer, and General Sir Frederick Stanley Maude. In the telegrams, Cox requests to be given more influence in his role or to be released from his duties. The bulk of the telegrams come from Cox himself, with shorter telegrams between the Viceroy and Secretary of State for India discussing how the situation should be dealt with.
