Note briefly stating that disturbances between the Montefik Arabs and the Turkish Government are occurring on the Euphrates river, and that there are numerous 'plundering canoes' on the river, 'under the control of the unruly hordes'. Merchants and others navigating the river are unaware of the current state of affairs. The note is written on a small scrap of paper which has text on the reverse side, which may be part of the original letter containing the Basra Agent's report.
