Covering letter enclosing letter no.103 of 1852 (folio 34) from Mr A Malcolm, Bushire, to Captain Arnold Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , dated 12 August 1852. The letter informs the Resident of the debt (9,049 Mohamed Shah rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. ) he holds against Mr Amir Khan Johannes, on account of the sale of sugar. The money has been withheld from Malcolm on account of the quantity of sugar being short of that stated in the original sale. Malcolm requests the Resident's help to settle the matter.
