The letter is an acknowledgement of receipt of the Resident in the Persian Gulf Historically used by the British to refer to the sea area between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Often referred to as The Gulf or the Arabian Gulf. , Captain Arnold Kemball’s earlier letter, which was a report of his annual tour of the Arab coast of the Gulf. Anderson writes that the Government ‘generally approves’ of the report.
