Thompson encloses a letter from Evan Jervis (not included in the file), the Acting Paymaster with the British force at Ra's al-Khaymah, requesting information on the prospects of raising money at Bushire to pay the troops at Ra's al-Khaymah, prior to the arrival of treasure from Bombay.
