Small raids by bedouins are reported from Sbargak
Umm-al-Qaiwain. —Ruler : Shaikh Ahmed bin Rashid.
The ruler suspecting his cousin' Abdullah bin Nasir of treasonable designs
banished him from Umm-al-Qaiwain. He demolished his house which overlooked
the sea fearing that it might fall into the hands of his enemies and prove impregn
able to him afterwards.
Shaikh Ahmed bin Rashid has pursued a friendly policy and was one of those
who endeavoured to mediate at Ras-al-Khaimah.
His territory was raided by bedouins and in July some 30 camels were carried
off from the suburbs of Umm-al-Qaiwain.
