I have the honour to inform you that the
Director of Customs and Port Officer reports to
me that late at night on the 29th June 1936,
a bottle of Hennessy^ three-star brandy was
smuggled ashore on the person of a British sub
ject, a local resident, who had visited the
steamer for social purposes.
I should be grateful if you would kindly
take the matter up with the shipping company
with a view to enlisting th(i^r cooperation in
the prevention of offences against the Bahrain
Liquor Control Regulations.
