The letter is informing Mr Willock of the Resident's return from Shiraz on 17 October 1824, and his intention to depart Bushire for Muscat on 9 November 1824 aboard the HC Cruizer Benares . It notes that the Resident intends to undertake his annual tour of the Arabian coast, and that Assistant Surgeon James Pringle Riach will be placed in charge during his absence.
