- Content
The letter is acknowledging the receipt of a communication (No 1108) concerning the restoration of the Beny Boo Ali [Banī Bū ‘Alī] tribe.
In response, it reports that the Resident has reached an agreement with Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd, the Imam of Muscat, to rebuild the tribes habitations in a 'permanent manner'. It further reports that he has consulted with the tribe's chief, Mohomed been Ali [Muḥammad bin ‘Alī], over their needs.
The extent of the repairs needed to the tribe's dwellings and date plantations is therefore outlined in the letter, along with their expected cost. It is noted that the required funds have already been provided by the Resident, and it is claimed that the tribe is grateful for the British assistance that has been rendered to them.
