Dear Sir:
This Company is obtaining on loan from the U. S. Army
in the Middle 3ast, automotive equipment for use in connec
tion with our construction projects. This equipment may
^ arrive by boat, or it may be driven overland to Kuwait where
we would be expected to take delivery.
At the present time we anticipate receivingabout 50
units, and we should greatly appreciate your assistance in
arranging permission for the necessary number of Company
drivers, who will be Saudi Arabs under the supervision of an
American employee, to enter Kuwait to take delivery of this
equipment. It will be driven overland from Kuwait to Dhahran
We are uncertain as to the correct procedure to follow
in this matter -- i.e. whether we should wire direct to the
Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Kuwait or request your assistance in
telegraphing to the Kuwait authorities. We shall greatly
appreciate your assisting in this matter or your advice as to
the steps we should take, as this equipment may arrive in
Kuwait in the very near future.
Yours very truly,
ARABIAN AMERICAN OIL COMPANY
