1 am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No. 1617 (Con
fidential), dated the 18th June 1911, forwarding for sanction a statement of
expenses, amounting to 11550-2-0 incurred by the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. Agent, Lmgah,
during the past year, in connection with visits to Abu Musa on your benali,
and emergent petty repairs carried out on the sheds there.
2 In reply I am to inform you that the Government of India agree to
bear the expenditure in question as a charge against Indian revenues I am
to add that it is considered inadvisable to ask the Shaikh of Shargah to re
imburse the amount, or even to share it.
