it would oe useful to know of them» IDven as regards the
Shaikh of Qatar the information seems to be sketchy, in
1930 Prior reported very confident i ally (see the enclosures in
your P.L. (IS,4861/4861/91J of September 12, 1930) that the
Shaikh admitted to paying a secret subsidy of Rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. 100,000
