The correspondence concerns an incident in January 1931 when two Tangistani boats opened fire on Bahraini fishing boats and a discussion to erect a stone pillar on Fasht al-Jārim where the incident occured in order to designate it as Bahraini territory. The remainder of the correspondence concern the looting of the steamship Star of Mex which ran aground at Rā’s al-Ḥadd on the coast of Oman in February 1947.
