The letter is acknowledging the receipt of Captain Arnold Burrowes Kemball's communications — Nos. 1B, 2, 4, and 7; dated 26 May, 23 February, 3 April, and 10 August 1855 — reporting his successful reconciliation of the Chief of Bahrein [Bahrain] with his exiled relatives at Demaun [Ad-Dammān], and the submission of the Wahabee ruler to British policy respecting his protégé. It also conveys the approval and congratulations of the Bombay Government over Captain Kemball's handling of the matter.
