The letter is informing the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. that the dispute between Syed Saeed [Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd], the Imam of Muscat, and the Persians over Bunder Abbas [Bandar-e ʻAbbās] has been brought to a satisfactory settlement. It includes a short extract of a letter from the British Minister at Tehran to the Acting Resident on the subject, dated 28 November 1855.
