The letter advises that the Acting Resident's proposal to hire a native boat to convey a packet to Bassidore [Bāsaʻīdū] — for transmission to Bombay — may not be the speediest means of transmitting it to India. Instead the Commodore advises awaiting the arrival of the steamer Semiramis at Bushire.
