Sir,
I am directed by the Secretary of State for
India to refer to India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. printed letter
I-) o . .t" 1 . Z. 894/3 5 of 13th February 1935 forwarding a
copy of an express letter dated 26th January 1935
from the Government of India and to previous
correspondence on the subject of the renewal of
the Muscat Commercial Treaty. Subject to the
concurrence of the Secretary of State for Foreign
Affairs, Sir Samuel Hoare proposes to sanction
the Government of India's proposal to renew the
Treaty for a further period of one year. In the
event of the renewal being approved steps will be
taken to provide the Foreign Office with the usual
number of copies of the Arabic and English texts of
the document prolonging the Treaty.
2. Copies of this letter are being sent to
the Colonial Office, Dominions Office and Board of
Trade.
