Political Resident
A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency.
, for communication to His Majesty's
Government, that We note from early negotiations, which
were formerly carried out with our late grandfather Saiyid
Faisal on the subject, that His Majesty's Government did
not then ask for proposals for revision before the actual
commencement of negotiations for revision. But for this
purpose they authorized their Consul at Muscat to direct
ly open negotiations.
We would therefore request His Majesty's
Government to accord to us the same procedure they had
then adopted when negotiations took place for revision
of the Treaty.
We are awaiting with pleasure for His Majesty's
Government to delegate some one for negotiations on the
subject.
