The letter goes on to discuss Colonel Stannus's intention of waiting until Lieutenant-Colonel Macdonald had responded on the matter before bringing it to the attention of Government, however a letter from Zekee Khan requesting his assistance in rescuing Shaik Abdool Russool Khan [Abd al-Rasūl Khān] had obliged him to raise the matter in his response to Zekee Khan, and that Zekee Khan's response to this had made it necessary to bring the matter fully to the attention of the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. Colonel Stannus goes on to discuss the reasons for Zekee Khan's behaviour and subsequent allegations that had been made, including that the marine depot at Bassidore [Bāsa’īdū] was a clandestine settlement, which Stannus believes is an attempt to 'excite the jealous feelings of His Majesty (Fath ʻAlī Shāh).
