Letter enclosing a copy of a letter from the Imam of Muscat (Saʻīd bin Sulṭān) in response to the official notification of the British authorities departure from Bombassa [Mombasa] and recommendations by Colonel Stannus that mercy be shown to the inhabitants of the island.
The letter goes on to discuss the misinterpretation by the Imam of Muscat of some parts of the letter and the steps Colonel Stannus intends to take to correct this.
