Mr. Rendel suggested that it might be possible
to make a distinction between the neutral zone and
Kuwait proper, in view of the former's history and
status, and to make a declaration that on political
grounds, His Majesty's Government could not allow the
neutral zone to be exploited.

There are also letters in Arabic to and from the Sheikh of Bahrain, Hamad Bin Issa Al-Khalifah, and confidential correspondence regarding the resignation of Major Holmes from Chief Local Representative of BAPCO, and the translation of a speech read in his honour by Ali bin Hussein (folios 201-203).
