A white cloth hangs from his waist and a ring is visible on the little finger of his right hand. Both men hold frame drums (mazhar or tar) before their chests, which show the finger marks where they are struck.
The negative has had hand-work applied, causing the image to take on a soft-shaded paint-like quality in places. In particular the original background has been substituted completely.
