TRANSLATION ^
In. the Name of God, the Merciful, the Coriipassionate
Sa'icl "bin raimur Uultan of Muscat and OiBan unto all who may
read this document, "be they one or a company, greetings I
Whereas a new Treaty between us, in respect of the
Sultanate of Muscat end Oman, of the one part, and Our Kable
Friend (leorge the Sixth, King of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland, and the United British Dominions "beyond the Seas,
Emperor of India, of the other part, to replace the Treaty of
Friendship Commerce and Navigation, signed at Muscat on the
19th March 1891, was concluded, and signed on the 15th Dhei
il Hijjah 135? on our hehalf in person, on the one hand, and hy
the Plenipotentiary of O^r Hohle l^irend George the Sixth, on
the other hand, and that Treaty is as follows, word for word

We, having considered the Treaty aforesaid, have approved,
accepted, and confirmed its Articles and Clauses severally and
as a whole, as we do by this document approve, accept, confirm
and ratify it, for Ourselves, our heirs and successors in
respect of the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman; promising upon
the honour of Our Hoyal Word that we will sincerely and
faithfully observe and perform all and singular the things
which are mentioned and contained in the Treaty, and that we
will not expose the same to be violated by anyone, or to any
transgression, so far as it lies in our power. And ^or the
greater validity and affirmation we have placed Our Seal upon
this document, which we have signed with Our Hoyal Hand.
Signed in the Palace at Muscat, the 17th Dhee il uijjah
1357, in the Eighth year of Our Reign.
