Copy in translation of letter No. 292 dated the
13th August 1939 from the Secretary to His Highness the
Sultan of Muscat and Oman to H.B.M's Consul, Muscat.
The Sultan has directed me to enquire if it is
possible for you to send us some copies in Arabic and
English of the new Treaty ratified between the Government
of Muscat and Oman and the British Government.
Copy of letter No. C/237 dated the 16th August
1939 from H.B .M 's Consul, Muscat to the Secretary to His
Highness the Sultan of Muscat and Oman.
Please refer to your letter No. 292 of 13th
August 1939.
2. I much regret that I am unable to accede to His
Highness's request as I have only two copies of the Treaty
myself. I am writing to the Hon'ble the Political
Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. by this mail and shall enquire
if ffiopies can be made available.

The volume contains correspondence relating to the signing of a new treaty between Great Britain and the Sultan of Muscat 'to replace the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation signed at Muscat on the 19th March, 1891, which terminates on the 11th February, 1939.'
