I am directed by the Secretary of State to forward a copy
of a letter from the Foreign Office regarding the
application to certain specified territories
of the Treaty dated 5th February, 1939 between the United
Kingdom and India and Muscat, and to request that a communication
may be addressed to His Highness the Sultan in the terms
indicated by the Foreign Office in accordance with the
provisions of Art, 19 of the Treaty.
A copy of this letter and enclosures is being sent to the
External Affairs Department of the Government of India and to
the
Political Agent
A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency.

The volume contains correspondence relating to the signing of a new treaty between Great Britain and the Sultan of Muscat 'to replace the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation signed at Muscat on the 19th March, 1891, which terminates on the 11th February, 1939.'
