Content

The letter is a report of the retrieval in Muscat of a girl who had been sold into slavery. The recovery of the girl was made possible through the work of the Agent at Lingah [Bandar-e-Lengeh] Ahmed bin Mallah Hussein. On being informed of the girl's arrival in Muscat by Hamerton, the Imam of Muscat, Sa‘id bin Sulṭān al-Sa‘id, took charge of the girl, pledging to punish those guilty of kidnapping and selling a free person.
