The letter is enclosing a copy of a communication (not present) from Sir Harford Jones [Brydges] and William Bruce's reply (see f. 19-19v). The subject matter is the destruction of the old factory at Bushire. The letter further notes that work on the replacement house has not yet began, as the Governor of Bushire is awaiting more favourable weather, and the Residency A diplomatic office of the British Government established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. is still housed in tents as a result.
