The letter is informing the Bombay Government that Rahma Ben Jabber [Raḥmah bin Jābir], having embarked on a cruising expedition, has joined up with boats from the Joasimese [ Qāsimī One of the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates; also used to refer to a confederation of seafaring Arabs led by the Qāsimī tribe from Ras al Khaima. ] tribe and taken a brig belonging to Abdulla Aga, causing much loss of life in the process. It further notes that William Bruce fears that this may give them the confidence to start attacking British vessels once again.
