The letter is confirming that a communication for the Court of Persia, delivered to Bushire by HMS Hesper , has arrived and been forwarded to its final destination. It also informs the Vice-Admiral of the increase of 'pirate activity' in the Gulf, and encloses a copy of the Resident's letter to Captain Prior (see ff. 149v-150) for further information; it is noted that the Captain has agreed to undertake the suggested cruise to Muscat.
