F rom BASRAH to MUHAMMARAH.

Authority. —Major-General Gorringe, whose force (of all
arms) raoved by this route as far as stage I in April,
1915. Guns and all wheeled transport went by
river from, Basrah.
General.—-Little used, the river Shatt-al-'Arab forming the
popular thoroughfare. The route is liable to become impassable

Appendix B - Information relating to Navigation etc of the Tigris between Mosul and Baghdad supplied by our Raftsmen.
