of affairs to the unrivalled sovereign's durbar A public or private audience held by a high-ranking British colonial representative (e.g. Viceroy, Governor-General, or member of the British royal family). ; at

The cavalry and infantry, assembled at the shadow
of the ever-victorious stirrup, were ranged in two
divisions. The Tabreez foot-guards, a body of Sarbaz
from Maraghah, the musketeers of the body-guard,
and the artillery with their cannon, splendid as the
galaxy, were appointed to advance and reinforce
the musketeers of Asterabad, Damawend, and Ker-
man, and the royal guards of Khorasan ||, who were
engaged in defending the fort under the command
of Hasan Khan Kajar, brother to Husain Khan
Sardar Leader of a tribe or a polity; also refers to a military rank or title given to a commander of an army or division. . To these the prince gave strict injunctions
