16th August,1938.
My dear Bullard,
I arn sorry to trouble you again, "but would like to
let you know that I have just received advice from Mr.
Hamilton of the Bahrein Petroleum Company that the Saudieh
Government have agreed to our Company - Gray, Mackenzie & Co.
Ltd. - carrying out the landing work at Has Tanurah hut will
not permit any of our employees landing in Saudieh Territory.
It would appear from this that the Government
has not sanctioned our opening an office in Has Tanurah.
Perhaps we might he ahle to arrange this in London,
hut I shall he glad to have your advice and would much
appreciate any assistance you can give us.
In any case, we still think it advicahle to send
a representative to Jeddah if the Government officials
are there so as to get in touch with them.
Yours sincerely,
