For the three years previous to the war
the average annual Import of tin was 101 cases.of sheet
approximate
tim. 30 x 18 x9 inches were the/dimensions of each
case.
Owing to shipping from India being restricted
there were no importations in 1915 and 1916 with the
exception of small quantities which individuals
brought in their personal possession and which
the Customs did not /register.
Locally household goods are made from the tin •
Small Quantities are sometimes sent to QATIP and HASA.

Bahrain, with statement and explanatory notes, concerning articles imported into Bahrain Harbour during 1912-1916, November 1916;
- papers relating to the export by merchants in Bahrain and elsewhere of large amounts of gold to Persia via Bushire, March - October 1917. British officials suspected that the gold was intended for the Turks in Mesopotamia.
