Please refer to your predecessor's Express
Letter No. C/190, of 19th November 1932.
2. You will reraemoer that we talked over the
matter with .fe.jor Holmes during my present visit to
Bahrain. He confirmed the fact that the letter to
him was from tne Persian Government - though he was
vague as to what department it had emanatea from.
The letter had reference to his o'il activities in
Bahrain, to which of course the Persian Government lay
claim. He haa not got the letter with him - though
it might be in his files at Kuwait, or elsewhere, ana
had received it as long ago as about last February.
He aoded that when in Baghdad he had tried the expcr-
-iment of applying for a visa from the Persian consul
there to visit Persia, but haa been refused.
3 I co not think there is mucn point in taking
the matter further ?
