Letter informing Sir Bartle on recent events and news in the Gulf including Sayed Torkee [Turki bin Said]'s intentions of advancing on Muskat by land and the Sultan of Muskat [Salim II bin Thuwaini]'s desire that Pelly visit him.

The letter also reports on Pelly's high opinion of the quality and work of his new assistants and regarding the gun-boats stationed in the Gulf which he is requesting sails for so that they can be used without depleting the limited coal supplies.
