Covering letter with an accompanying enclosure (ff 12-13), a translated extract of a letter from Hajee Jassim, the British agent at Bahrain, dated 26 April 1852. Jassim's letter is an intelligence report on proceedings in Bahrain, including the despatch of a boat to the Guttur [Qatar] coast to assess the threat from the inhabitants that area; the arrival of Humdan ben Tahnoon [bin Tahnun], brother of the Sheikh of Abothabee [Abu Dhabi] and his meeting with the Sheikh of Bahrain; and communication and presents between the Sheikh of Bahrain and Syed Saeed [Said bin Sultan] of Muscat.
